In my opinion the topic of the story continues to be a controversial topic. Even tho the record book abortion is neer mentioned through forbidden the story the germ manages to get his nous across. Honestly, I believe she doesnt want to go thru with the social function and she is only doing it to please him. Which in my opinion its a really immature way of dealing with things.
Because I myself have a son and took responsibility for my actions or else of backing down the way Jig is in the story. Jig also makes having an abortion look like its only a medical procedure and vigor else to it. She doesnt see the emotional aspects that play a lineament in this situation. In finale I enjoyed reading Hills Like White Elephants, because of the profound military man emotion Hemingway expressed in this short story.
